Larry’s Homemade Ice Cream (Arlington)

Mrs. Chow and I did a random walk into the Clarendon branch of Larry’s on a hot day in July to get some ice cream to cool ourselves off.  The shop is very clean with a fresh ice cream parlor feel.  We felt immediately welcomed.

There are a ton of ice cream flavors to try; definitely something for everyone.  For the adventurous, perhaps Lychee or Lavender.  For the classics, perhaps mint chip or oreo.  Lucky for us the counter person (Larry?!) didn’t seem annoyed by the number of samples we requested.  Yes, we are those annoying people who hold up the line in order to try every random flavor of ice cream.  And by we, I mean Mrs. C. 🙂  All the flavors tasted great; it was hard to choose.  Mrs. C went with a chocolate butter almond flavor, and I went with Thai Coffee.  Super creamy deliciousness that really hit the spot on a hot summer day.

The other thing that really sets Larry’s apart (other than the free samples!!) is the service.   As with any small business, it’s all about customer service and you will get excellent service from “Larry” –or whoever that friendly guy behind the counter is. He chats you up, makes a few jokes, and makes you feel right at home.

I definitely would recommend giving Larry’s ice cream a try!
