Rabbit Salad & Grill

Rabbit Salad & Grill is a relatively new addition to the Clarendon dining scene. We’ve passed it a number of times, but for whatever reason we never went in or checked out the menu.  We secretly blame Pete’s (next door) for having blinding, magnetic super powers.

Then a Groupon for Rabbit came out, and we decided to see what it was all about. The motto behind Rabbit is Slow Food Fast.  Now the catchy logo–a rabbit driving a carrot-shaped car–makes sense!

Our groupon allowed us to get two menu items from Rabbit, plus two cupcakes from Red Velvet (cupcake shop attached to Rabbit). Of course, Mr. Chow did what any mathematical GENIUS would do. He got the most expensive item on the menu. 🙂

For Mr. Chow: Flank Steak – $12.50

For me: Cobb salad – $10.50

The verdict?  Deeeeelicious!  The flank steak was a little rare, but the smashed potatoes were really tasty.  My salad was huge–tons of fresh corn, bacon, and veggies.  Plus the perfect amount of tasty salad dressing.   We left feeling satisfied but not guilty.  This is a difficult balance to strike when it comes to fast and affordable dining. Rabbit does it so well.  An added bonus for having a really clean setting with ample seating for groups or pairs, and free water fancied up with lemons, limes, and cucumbers.

Rabbit was so good that I went back a week later, sans Groupon, for the Peach and Prosciutto salad and rabbit juice.  Delicious!

My mathematical ninja is already calculating our next Rabbit adventure.

And in case you are wondering about those cupcakes from Red Velvet…..
they tasted a day old.  The cake was not very moist, which is a deal breaker.  Just not worth 3.25 Washingtons or the 953 thigh master pumps I’d have to do to burn off the calories.
